GETTING TO THE CENTRAL PARK EVENT SITE
PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Central Park is located approximately 600 metres from the Joondalup Train Station on the Joondalup line running south to Perth and north to Butler or Clarkson. The Joondalup train station has step free access.

The City Centre is also serviced by a variety of other bus and CAT bus routes. To plan your journey visit Transperth Journey Planner

PARKING

There is plenty of parking in the City of Joondalup city centre. Parking in the Joondalup City Centre is free on weekends. There is no dedicated parking provided for this event, including dedicated accessible parking.

GETTING TO ECU JOONDALUP CAMPUS

There are a number of ways you can get to ECU Joondalup Campus.

BY TRAIN

The nearest station is Joondalup, on the Perth-Joondalup line. The station is an eight minute walk from campus. Alternatively, Transperth operates a free CAT bus service from Joondalup train station, stopping at the library (building 31), student housing and the Police Academy shared road. BY MOTORCYCLE OR SCOOTER

Free parking is available in designated areas for motorcycles and scooters.

BY CAR OR OTHER VEHICLE

The Joondalup Campus is situated at the intersection of Joondalup Drive and Grand Boulevard. If travelling to ECU via the Mitchell Freeway, take the Hodges Drive exit. Visitors can park in areas marked 'Visitor Parking' and purchase a ticket at one of our ticket vending machines located in the parking area. Visitor parking areas are shown in the ECU Joondalup Campus map available here

Access around the venue

Kaleidoscope festival takes place in a variety of locations around the Joondalup City Centre, these include the car parks located in front of the Joondalup Library, Civic Centre, Administration Building and Joondalup Lotteries House located on Boas Avenue, as well as the footpaths, grassed lawns and parkland paths leading to and including Central Park near Grand Boulevard.

Approach

Joondalup City Centre is accessible by multiple public transport and parking options as described in detail below.

The event does not have a specific entrance or approach point, easily accessible entrances to the event can be found in multiple locations depending on which direction you are approaching from and mode of transport used.

Inside the event venue

The event takes place in a variety of spaces mainly involving car parks, grassed areas, public footpaths, and external building corridors. All of the event spaces are accessible by wheelchairs. Some of the event takes place on the car park which has a slight gradient. There are some kerbs, clear routes will be left around kerb areas in order to access the event facilities.

Installations and experiences near the Joondalup Public Library and Civic Centre Buildings take place on the upper first floor corridor and surrounds. Access to the upper level corridor and surrounds is by ramp which starts near the Administration Building.

Please note that the ‘Central Walk Car Park’ located near Boas Ave and Davidson Terrace will be closed as it forms part of the event venue. Personal Assistant Tickets

Entrance to the event is free for all and no tickets are required.

Areas with restricted access

Some of the exhibitions at the event cannot be entered with a wheelchair due to the delicate materials used in their construction. These are the large inflatable sculptures with internal activity areas and the small camping style tents. Entrance is possible either on foot, or by being helped or lifted in to the space. The Mechatron Virtual Reality experience is a seated moving virtual reality experience and has an age and height restriction.

Accessible toilets

Accessible toilets will be located at four locations around the event site and will be clearly signed.

Assistance dogs

Assistance dogs are allowed at the event. Please ensure dogs are on a lead at all times and that you clean up after your dog and dispose of dog waste appropriately. Pet dogs are strictly not allowed at the event.
